Amaretto tastes like a sweet flavoured almond extract, gloriously rich and strikingly brown in colour. Yet the makers of some amarettos claim there be no almonds in the drink at all and therefore are fine with those with nut allergies to partake in. This particular brand though does have almonds in it and is an infusion of the distillation of apricots and almonds along with burnt sugar and many other selected herbs and fruits. This gives it a wonderfully smooth, true almond taste.
