Quinta do Piloto is the founding estate of the Sivipa group, and their biggest contributor. They supply grapes to Sivipa, but also make their own wines. These estate wines allow a finer expression of the terroir and grape varieties. The Moscatel Roxo is made in the same way as the Moscatel de Setubal, and a blend is created between grapes from limestone soils and sand to ensure the balance of acidity, sweetness, and aromatics and flavours. However, having more colour in the skins, the Roxo results in a wine with more red berry character in the profile, and more of a textural element through the palate. The years ageing in oak brings everything together and adds complexity.
