Ca dei Maghi is a small farm in the hills of Valpolicella making very small quantities of the most exquisite wines. Although the estate started in the 1950s, it is only since 2011 when Paolo Creazzi took over the reins that this estate has gone from being ‘good’ to outstanding. This Amarone is utterly delicious! It will be as expensive as any of the top Amarones in the next few years but it’s a new name on the block at the moment. It’s very, very good. Intense aromas with hints of cherry and sweet spices. Full bodied, well structured, lasting and harmonious flavour. Excellent with aged cheese, bitter chocolate, cured or roasted meats.
